Following a dismal winter which saw England getting thrashed Down Under and embarrassed at the World Cup, Wadham & Isherwood, led by their trusty captain Chris Lock are looking forward to some exciting games to restore faith in the English game.
The 2006 season saw record numbers signing up to the Wadham and Isherwood team with Steve Barrett taking the spoils in the batting averages having scored a total of 184 runs in 9 games with an impressive average of 92. Steve is under strict instructions this year to forget about his average and to start playing!
Ray Gordon topped the bowling averages having taken 3 wickets in just 6 overs with an average of 11. In second place was again our star player Steve (Statto) Barrett who bowled 25 overs, taking 8 wickets with an average of 12.1!
One particular highlight last year saw Tim Chetwood trying to catch the ball with his head! Disappointingly Tims caught and bowled attempt resulted in him being rushed to hospital and receiving 20-30 stitches to his forehead!
