Wadham and Isherwood, acting on behalf of the Ashtenne Industrial Fund, are delighted to announce a significant new letting on the Mill Lane Industrial Estate, Alton
Pinnacle Foods have just signed a new lease on Plot 2, Caker Stream Road which comprises approximately 27,400 sq ft (2,545 sq m) of industrial / warehouse accommodation. The unit was let for a term of 15 years on a full repairing and insuring lease.
The letting to Pinnacle Foods Ltd is the first significant transaction in Alton for over 12 months. Nick Reeve (Director at Wadham and Isherwood) commented ‘this letting is hopefully a further sign that the market is now recovering from what has undoubtedly been a difficult few years. Several local and national companies currently have active property requirements for the Alton area and it is clear that companies now have the confidence to plan for the future, taking advantage of the favourable lease terms currently available. Alton has traditionally had a very strong industrial / warehouse occupier base and despite the recession, the town appears to have bucked the trend. The market has been holding up well, resulting in less oversupply than has been the case in other towns.’
Pinnacle Foods Sales and Marketing director Chris Wilson commented that ‘the expansion into Alton should enable Pinnacle to develop and expand. Our client base has grown significantly over the last few years and this positive trend looks set to continue. Our new facility will result in the creation of 40 new jobs which should benefit the local economy and community.
