NEW LETTING AT COXBRIDGE BUSINESS PARK

By the end of 2009 two further companies will have located to the prestigious Coxbridge Business Park development on the outskirts of Farnham.

At the end of June Tvedt Group took up occupation of the front building of their high quality bespoke development and more recently a letting has completed of the rear building to Protean Electric, who are relocating from their existing premises in Alton.

Tvedt Group are one of the country’s premier providers of specialist architectural  finishes and have made a significant contribution to the success of many of Britain’s landmark buildings including the Millennium Centre and Terminal 5.  Gerry Tvedt, the Chairman/Managing Director of Tvedt Group, commented ‘as a company we are delighted with the move to Coxbridge which gave us the opportunity of developing an HQ facility for our specific needs and importantly to project the right image for the company.  We are also very pleased to have achieved an early letting of our surplus space which proves that even in a challenging commercial property market there is still demand for buildings of quality and in the right location’.

Protean Electric, following completion of the letting in August, are currently in the process of fitting out which on completion in a few months time will provide them with an air conditioned building of just under 12,000 sq ft. having offices at first and a mix of production, storage and research and development at ground floor.

Protean Electric are a relatively new, US owned, company who are involved in developing green technology specifically researching and developing practical alternatives that take the oil, carbon and cost out of vehicle transportation.  Vice President of the company, Tim Bycroft, commented ‘following a restructuring of the company last year we immediately realised that we needed to find not only larger but also more high profile space than we had existing in Alton and our first inspection of the Coxbridge property convinced us that it was perfect in terms of both image and location.  With our involvement in green technology we believe the Coxbridge site will fulfil our needs over the coming years and we anticipate being on site in the next few months once the fit out is completed following which we will be employing in the order of 75 people’.

Chris Lock of Wadham & Isherwood, who acted for Tvedt in the letting to Protean further commented ‘the letting to Protean, which was negotiated prior to practical completion and without any active marketing, demonstrates that even in a difficult market tenants will still be found for properties of the right quality.  Despite Protean’s extensive search in this area for alternative premises there was little in the way of choice taking into account the size and type of property they needed.  The development by Tvedt ticked all the boxes with Coxbridge as a location being ideal with its immediate access to the A31 plus close proximity to both Farnham town centre and the railway station’.
